About CLMS
For over twenty years, California League of Middle Schools has been the only professional association in California solely committed to supporting middle grades educators and their students. A non-profit membership association, CLMS is dedicated to improving the professional knowledge of middle level educators so that early adolescents may experience academic success and personal well-being.
CLMS has eleven Regions organized according to counties. Each region has a regional advisory panel with its own representative to the Board of Directors. Contact the individual listed as the representative in your region if you would like more information about CLMS and its programs, are interested in serving on a regional panel, or simply wish to network with others in your region.
Staff Development Programs
CLMS is an organization led by California educators, for California educators. We offer conferences, workshops, and development opportunities that are aligned to and address national and state standards. Conference topics and schedules include:

Award and Recognition Programs
- Schools to Watch - Taking Center Stage - features and supports the achievements of high performing middle schools.
- Educator of the Year Award - recognizes more than 100 outstanding educators each year for their commitment to middle level education.
- Legislator of the Year Award - honors legislators who have made significant efforts to support middle level educators and students.
- Howard Family Scholarship Program - California League of Middle Schools is pleased to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund that will provide three individuals with $1,000 to assist with tuition and fees at any California public college or university.
Membership
An inclusive organization, CLMS provides Institutional Memberships to school sites and district offices, plus Individual Memberships to those who wish join on their own. Resources
CLMS provides a number of professional resources, including publications and affiliation with other middle grades associations. Members receive online copies of the League's semi-annual newsletter, the Middle Level News , and the monthly eNewsletter via League Links. Both publications highlight education and legislative news and provide educators with the opportunity to publish original articles. CLMS has also developed professional relationships with educational organizations throughout the state and nation, including the California Department of Education, the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform and National Middle School Association. CLMS offers middle level educators a unified approach to school-wide improvement that addresses both student achievement and the developmental needs of pre-adolescents.
