Legislator of the Year – Assemblymember Carol Liu

Assemblymember Carol Liu (44th Assembly District) is being honored as the 2006 California League of Middle Schools Legislator of the Year for her work on Assembly Bill1608, the Governor’s proposal to include career technical education in middle schools. Although she supports incorporating career information into existing middle school courses, Assemblymember Liu responded to the concern voiced by CLMS members that there is no room for additional mandatory career courses in the already-packed middle school day.
