2009 Educator of the Year Nomination Form

Nominations for the 2007-2008 year are full. You may nominate for the 2008-2009 year using this form.


The CLMS "Educator of the Year" award is given annual to 11 educators, representing regions throughout California, who exemplify educational excellence and have made significant efforts to implement elements of educational reform in the middle school. Up to 10 finalists from each region will be honored locally. The one nominee selected to represent each region will subsequently be honored at the CLMS Annual Conference, March, 2009 in San Diego , CA . One of these nominees will be announced as CLMS Middle Level Educator of the Year at the conference. Nominees may be teachers, administrators, counselors, or other certificated personnel.   • Leadership Characteristics: Dedicated; innovative; exhibits professional collegiality; enthusiastic; proactive
  • Middle School Awareness: Supportive of middle school movement; demonstrates middle school concepts; committed to and uses principles of Caught in the Middle, Turning Points, Taking Center Stage and/or other middle school documents; incorporates State Frameworks and Standards
  • Exemplary Characteristics: Demonstrates beyond the job responsibilities; acts as role model; demonstrates ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds; other unique abilities and/or contributions
