Alvarado Intermediate School: Program Alvarado Intermediate School is an academically oriented school that is committed to an instructional program based on the California State Content Standards. Student achievement scores are strong due to the high quality of instructional programs and the efforts expended by students, parents, and staff. Learning is an exciting adventure rather than a tedious exercise. Students actively explore critical ideas by creating, constructing, designing, producing, and performing. The school's programs are student-oriented and directly address their needs. Alvarado takes pride in developing an annual school plan that is a living document with achievable goals relevant to the shared vision of a high performing school where every student has the opportunity to excel. Data drives the curriculum in all content areas, and annual changes are viewed as necessary measures to promote academic growth. Consequently, Alvarado has identified specific learning skills for all students to ensure that they are well equipped for the rigors of high school.
