The Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association recently donated a computer and projector to the school in support of the many programs and community activities. The Millikan Student Leadership Organization has done a remarkable job of collecting donations for Katrina victims, the Diabetes Association, Wheel Chairs, Toys For Tots, and Project Hope.

Millikan is a school that is alive with activities seven days a week. It is home to a youth services program that provides a year-round athletic program for middle school children interested in baseball, basketball, football, track and soccer. The dance rooms and black box theatre are often used by community organizations for meetings or other programs after school hours. The auditorium is home to a church that meets on Sundays. Two large community festivals are hosted annually. The Millikan Multicultural Festival and Renaissance Festival feature performances and booths for food and information that are developed by community members in conjunction with the Millikan student body and staff. The Millikan Gala, a fund raising theme party, is held at a venue near the school.

The Millikan community is committed to improving student achievement and providing equal access for all students to a high level standards-based education, in addition to many experiences that are unique and engaging. Organizations such as Millikan Leadership, The Rainbow Council, the Millikan Booster Club, ELAC, CEAC, GATE, SAS Parent Council and the School Site Council work together to consistently provide financial support and volunteers to augment basic instruction and assist with school events. Field trips, the school nurse, auditorium renovation, and other major projects have been possible due to the fund raising efforts of the aforementioned organizations.
