The Dana community has a blend of varied economic and cultural backgrounds. Forty-five percent of our students receive free or reduced lunches, with the remainder of our students ranging up to a moderate, middle class socioeconomic level. The school's student population is features approximately 794 students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Our school reflects California 's racial diversity, with a demographic profile that is 47% Latino, 15% African American, 16% White, 8% Asian & Pacific Islander, and 15% multi-racial. English is not the primary language for more than 250 of our students. These students designate one of fourteen different languages as their primary language, including Spanish, Tongan and Vietnamese. |
